The Data Entry screen looks like this:

The following example is the basic setup needed:

  1. Marking Periods

  2. Curriculum Type (assign a curriculum type to each class)

  3. Subject (assign a subject to each class)

  4. Classes (create a class for each line item on the report card)

  5. Notes - create a class with the "Notes Only" option selected. There is a limit of two "Notes Only" classes per student per curriculum type.

  6. Grade dropdown
    a. Set up the options in character grading. Assign a grading scheme to the character grades. Check off the appropriate options (char, effort, conduct, etc).

b. Assign the same grading scheme to the classes that get graded according to that scheme.

c. Link the character grading records to the marking caption record using chargradmarkingperiods.

Unique Features that will affect the printed report card only, not the data entry screen on the portal:

  • Report Card Group: Multiple subject codes are grouped together by filling in the subject report card group in Tools > Code Setup > School > Academics > Subject > Misc tab.

  • Columns are determined by filling in the report card group sort for each subject in Tools > Code Setup > School > Academics > Subject > Misc tab.
