Move Account Member to New Account

The Move to New Account feature enables the user to move an account member and all its information off of one account and create a new account for it. This feature is commonly used when a couple divorces and the primary or spouse needs to be moved to its own account.

 

1. Load the People form of the account with the account member to move.

 

2. Select the person to move from the grid and click on the Move to New Account icon on the grid toolbar, or right-click and select  Move to New Account from the menu.

 

3. A confirmation message will display. Select Yes to proceed.

 

4. The account member will be removed from the original account. A new account will be created where the account member as the Primary. Any addresses, associations, or data linked specifically to that account member will be moved as well.

If the account member had children on the original account, the children will still remain linked and will display on the people tab of the new account in gray.

 

5. Review both the original account and the new account to manually adjust any necessary data.

Note that all data applicable to the account as a whole will not be moved to the new account but will remain on the original account including: master flags (parent, etc),  financials (pledges, payments, etc), tuition contracts.
